About
Hi, I’m Daniel. Thank you for taking a moment to get to know more about me. I’m happy to tell you that I’ve been doing what I love as a Pet Care Professional since 2001! Here’s a little more about my educational and work history. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin I worked for 8 years as Head Teacher of 3rd-graders at St Anthony-New Brighton School District 282, Minneapolis, in the Extended Day Program, May of 1992 to October of 2000. Although it was some of the most important work I’ve done, after a number of years I realized a greater need to combine my love for dogs while partnering with families in caring for their pets. Over two decades, I’ve worked with the best owners I could hope for and hold the fondest of memories in my heart for many dogs. Want to hear directly from my previous customers? There’s no better way to gain that initial trust, and I’ll gladly provide their information at a moment’s notice.
How is my service unique? No apps, no bots, no AI. I like it “old-school” and I value direct interaction with my clients, so I encourage direct communication over the phone or by text if you prefer, and will do the same for you. Through constant attention to your pet, I’ll notice changes in their behavior, their gate, level of thirst, lack of eating, enthusiasm for the walk elimination patterns etc. I am watching for potential conflicts ahead of us with other dogs and steer clear of or coach your dog through the situation as we pass. Above all, the safety of your pet is of the utmost importance. Second to that is the security of your home when we exit for the walk and afterwards when I leave. Backup keys will never have any identifiable tags or markings other than the dog’s names to protect the identity of my clients. There are just too many examples of the knowledge I’ve gained from the 25+ years of doing this, but I hope that as we get to know one another, I’ll earn your trust with all of it.
Here’s a favorite quote that defines my work philosophy. “In Hawaiian, you don’t call yourself your pets Owner, you are their Kahu. Kahu has many meanings. Among them: guardian, protector, steward, beloved attendant. Basically someone entrusted with the safe-keeping of something precious, something cherished. What a Kahu protects is not their property. What they protect is a piece of their soul.”
WHY WHO'S YOUR DOGGY?
If you value having one and only one loving, Pet Care Professional to rely on who is dependable, is certified and ensured, has bonded with your dog and will communicate with you quickly and with honesty and professionalism, this service is for you. My greatest responsibility is looking out for your dog’s safety, therefore leashes are always secured with back-up collars and leash-to-collar extenders. Please use my references. I have worked decades to build wonderful relationships with families so that I can provide them for you before you commit to service.
I’m unique because I am the one who will prefer to call you when there is a question, before relying on texting. You will always know when I have entered your home, and when we’ve started out on our walk by receiving a photo of your dog enjoying his/her daily adventure. I’ll never assume anything if I am uncertain about any care for your pet.
I’m able to spot potential dog conflicts before they happen, and take measures to avoid them. I can diagnose dehydration, and administer pet first aid and CPR. I value outstanding customer service, and when you have a request, it’s me you’ll speak to and you will know at the end of our call, that I understand your concern and we will have a plan to make it right. I’ll be the only one caring for your dogs, so aside from you and your family, I’ll know them best which is something you are unlikely to get with the parade of walkers typical of other care services.
